The pinnacle of greatness for the English-speaking GNT community (well, OK - from a Western release perspective).
TOMY USA actually reached out to top GNT players to rebalance the game, and it really shows: it's one of the most balanced GNT games (in respect to the amount of viable characters). This game includes the four unique TOMY USA characters previously exclusive to Revolution 2 (Towa, Komachi, Bando, Kagura), and marks the first appearance of Chiyo and Anbu Kakashi in the GNT series.
It also marks when Viz USA realized that Naruto fans had access to the Internet and didn't need content removed to keep up with the anime release schedule. :^)

Characters
Naruto Shippuden: Clash of Ninja Revolution 3 has a total of 40 playable characters. While the story is fairly original and only covers up to about the Kazekage Rescue Arc, the game's character selection spans from the beginning of the Naruto Shippuden series to the end of the Akatsuki Suppression Arc.
The game's roster, with the exception of the removal of Naruto and Sasuke's Part I versions and the additions of Chiyo and Anbu Kakashi, is identical to the roster in Naruto Shippuden: Gekitou Ninja Taisen! EX 3. Many "leader" characters in this game from the previous Western-exclusive Clash of Ninja Revolution (Baki, Yugao, Kurenai) return in this game, as do the story-exclusive characters (Towa, Komachi, Bando, Kagura) that originally debuted in Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution 2.

Stages
The Naruto: Clash of Ninja Revolution titles have a stage-transition mechanic, where if a character is knocked off the ground in a specific location of the stage, they will be "launched" into another part of the stage with the attacker in pursuit. This short cinematic works like a quick-time event between players as judging by who hits which button first: If the attacker hits a button first, they have a chance to strike their opponent and do additional damage, but if the opponent his a button first they will instead dodge the hit and land in the next part of the stage on their feet (thus not giving the player any tactical advantage)
The stage-transition mechanic in this title is toggleable. This game has 20 stages, but when the stage-transition mechanic is turned off, both halves of a stage become selectable (so in a sense, the stage roster doubles to 40).
