- Sakon is offense-oriented: he possesses more (and longer) strings, more freedom in combos and opportunities to connect his supers, but has to contend with sub-par range.
- Ukon, on the other hand, is defense-oriented: he possesses permanent armor, as well as the ability to block all non-throw unblockable attacks in the game; however, he takes 1.2x extra damage compared to Sakon.
