The darling child of the GNT community. This game boasts remarkable improvements over its predecesors, given that this game is the first in the series to introduce the Y-canceling mechanic and improve on the previous titles' 3-on-3 gameplay mode by adding real-time active partner-switching options. Newcomers include Kabuto, the dodgy medic-nin, the Sound Five (who would remain exclusive to this title) and the ultimate transformations of Naruto and Sasuke: One-Tailed Kyuubi Naruto and Second State Sasuke.

Controls

Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4 utilizes a fairly simple control scheme. Characters can walk and run, jump, attack normally or with ninja weapons and perform special attacks. Unlike many fighting games, there are no complex button inputs to perform attacks. Most combos begin by pushing some combination of a direction and an attack button. However, combos can become somewhat complex when combining parts of basic combos together using a technique called "Y-Canceling" (these are sometimes referred to as "strings")
It's worth noting that this is one of the few Clash of Ninja titles that does not allow the player to use the Gamecube's D-pad to control their character. The community has found ways around this; however it typically employs the use of cheat codes or devices.
