- Tatsunoko Vs Capcom: Cross Generation Of Heroes is having its 4th location test from August 21st through the 28th, details here.
- Gouki has begun to appear in Street Fighter IV as a secondary boss after the fight with Seth at the end of Arcade Mode; no word has been released on whether or not he will be playable in the console version.
- Examu’s official site of Arcana Heart 2 “Arcana Party” has a blog post about their experience with Tougeki.
- A new version of “Miki The Fighting Girl” was released over the past weekend at Comiket.
- Famitsu has the newest trailer PV for “BlazBlue” up, the game is steadily nearing completion and Arc System Works plans to make it a huge success.
- The play mechanics of the game looking similar to Virtual On moreso than a traditional fighter, Higurashi Portable looks to hit the PSP sometime in 2008.
- Some info here about the PS2 release of Fate: Unlimited Codes SP-BOX, with a really cool Saber figurine. Game is due out December 18th, 2008.
- Some of the doujin fighters released and presented at C74 / Comiket: Monster: AncientCline, Gleam Of Force, Crucis Fatal/Fake, Lucky☆FighterII , Little Battlers ver.2.1, Angel Star Road 2, and DragonBlast, among others.
- nohoho has an overview of Tougeki 2008 from the Super Turbo perspective as well as some nuances of the Super Street Fighter II X matches from Tougeki 2007.
- Worldscollide.com has newish renders of Jax, Kitana, Catwoman and Green Lantern from the upcoming Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe, due November 2008. Magic Box has screens here. Midway also will soon be releasing the “Mortal Kombat Kollection” for PS2, which features Deception, Armageddon and Shaolin Monks ( to say nothing of the curious omission of Deadly Alliance, which is getting very hard to find and is arguably one of the best in the series ).

- The original Street Fighter Alpha is now available on the Playstation Network.
- Ignition Entertainment has apparently officially gotten around to releasing World Heroes Anthology in Europe ( thank goodness ).
- Melty Blood Actress Again is location testing and still on track for its fourth quarter Naomi release. Vids are here.
- Battle Fantasia is still getting a US console release for Xbox 360 before the end of 2008. The Japanese console release for PS3 and Xbox 360 dropped in May, but a US PS3 release is sketchy, as details are up in the air.
- GameWatch has some details and pictures on Examu’s new fighter Daemon Bride.
- Might be difficult to find by now, especially post-Tougeki, but the 100th issue of Arcadia Magazine was released, with a special DVD featuring Street Fighter IV, Blazblue, Tekken 6 and Tatsunoko Vs Capcom details, among other games ( and an Otomedius superplay if you’re into shmups, but I digress ).
- David Sirlin’s blog has an Evolution 2008 retrospective.
- Some nice Guilty Gear II Overture materials were released recently, an artbook, a Valentine pillow, and new downloadable content including a new multiplayer map and an EX costume for Sol.
- The 2008 CGS Season wrapped up and left fans of Dead Or Alive 4 competition floored. A retrospective article on the game’s evolution over the season is here. Then, you can go here and check out vids of all the matches you may have missed.
- August 7th through 10th marked the end of World Cyber Games’s Virtua Fighter 5 championship. Myke has a retrospective and recap here.
- This is pretty cool; a device now lets you pay for credits for arcade machines like Virtua Fighter 5 R and Street Fighter IV using your cellphone.
- There is evidently a very strong chance Yoshinori Ono will be flying out to the Leipzig Games Convention in Germany to show off the consumer version of Street Fighter IV.
- Not particularly fighting game centric, but good to see; the creative mind behind Weaponlord unleashes his team’s newest game for Xbox Live Arcade, a top down multiplayer piece of artistic shooting craziness called Shred Nebula.
- Square Enix’s Dissidia: Final Fantasy should be out December 2008 in Japan, check the most recent images here.
- Namco Bandai has sold over 2 million copies of Soul Calibur IV worldwide.
- The PS3 version of Tekken 6 will be released in Japan December 2008.
- The Wii Konami fighter Castlevania Judgement will be released October 2008, check pictures and info here.
- Ikki Tousen: Eloquent Fist releases for Japanese PSP on October 2nd, 2008.
